FIFA 23 – Fut Champions Play-Off and Finals Awards.

Intro

The enormous success of Ultimate Team comes to fruition each year with the release of FIFA, and often the EA team implements changes by creating an ever-evolving mode with each edition. This mode of FUT has existed since FIFA 17, encompasses many of the world’s strongest players and allows you to win fantastic rewards based on your achievements.

The FUT Champions that in past years had been the centerpiece of FIFA’s competitive game as of this year will no longer be so since the benchmark competitive competition has become Division Rivals in FIFA 23.

Let’s start right away by pointing out that this competition that was revolutionized in FIFA 22, remains essentially unchanged as functioning in FIFA 23. One of the few changes concerns precisely the rewards we will receive after the Weekend League. FUT Champions prizes are now handed out as soon as the 20 available games are finished, or when the time to play them is exhausted, usually at 9 a.m. on Mondays. Same for the Play Off awards, which are also handed out as soon as the 10 qualifying games are over.

Like last year, the prizes in this competition are the most attractive in Ultimate Team and allow us to make lots of credits with which to upgrade our team.

Let’s take a quick look at how to access this mode, how it works and what rewards you can get.

How FUT Champions works

This year the format has remained the same as FIFA 22, so let’s briefly review how this competition works. The competition follows a very simple pattern that takes place in three steps:

  1. First you have to reach the qualifying points quota (1250 FUT Champions points) to enter the Play-Off.
  2. At this point, we will need to play 10 FUT Champions Play-Off matches to gain access to the finals.
  3. If we have obtained at least 20 points (equivalent to 4 wins), we will be able to participate in the Fut Champions Finals, where we will have to play 20 games, trying to win as many as possible.

The main requirement for playing in FUT Champions is to achieve the necessary qualifying points. To get qualification points we have to play Division Rivals games, we will get points based on the results of the games we play and based on the division we belong to. This year the points to be obtained are 1250, once they are reached it is possible to enter the FUT Champions Play-Off. The number of points obtained for each game, varies according to the division we belong to. On Thursdays at the Division Rivals awards, additional points are awarded based on the division achieved.

Play-Offs are available for the duration of the season, which means we can play them during the week as well. Once we redeem the qualifying points, we will be able to participate in the Play-Off where 20 points will be needed to advance to the final round. Each win is worth 4 points, each loss 1 point, and in case of a tie there will be overtime and possibly even penalties. You will have 10 games to reach this goal and to happen to the Weekend League you will need to win at least 4 out of 10 games.

In case we fail to get the points we need we can still try again during the same week to requalify, however, starting from the previous round. This means that we will again have to win qualifying points through Division Rivals matches. During each FUT season, lasting about 6 weeks, there will be a limited number of attempts available. In any case, the Play-Offs will also provide us with some very interesting prizes.

If we can win at least 4 games so as to get at least 20 points, we will get a Finals Qualification Token. Thanks to this token, we will be able to participate in the new version of the old Weekend League, namely the FUT Champions Finals, and we will be able to decide on which weekend to play matches. Starting Oct. 30 with the return to daylight saving time, the FUT Champions Finals begin at 9 a.m. on Friday and end at the same time on Monday. We will choose when to redeem the token and start playing matches, so let’s make sure we have enough time to play matches when we use it. Tokens can also be redeemed in seasons following acquisition. If you fail to reach 20 points and thus do not get the token, you can still try again, as the available attempts at the moment are6 per season, but we will have to accumulate 1250 qualifying points again.

The FUT Champions finals are a very interesting and competitive part of Ultimate Team, they take place over the weekend, and each player can play up to a maximum of 20 matches. Again you will get 4 points for each win and 1 point for each loss. Also in this competition if the match ends in a tie there will be overtime and possibly even penalties. Based on the points we get from wins in matches we will be placed in one of 10 levels, these levels will determine the quality and quantity of the rewards we receive. The rewards will be redeemed immediately as soon as the available 20 games are finished; if we have not played them all, we can redeem them on Monday morning, at the end of the FUT Champions Finals.

FUT Champions Play-Off Awards

Once we enter the Play-Offs we will be given 10 games and based on how many points we get we will be part of a level. There are 7 levels and each one grants us rewards, the first two levels obviously providing the best rewards. To also get the token for qualifying for the finals, we will have to win at least 4 out of 10 games thereby getting at least 20 points.

FUT Champions Finals Awards

By participating in the finals, which is the new version of the old Weekend League, we will have the opportunity to receive far better rewards than in the Play-offs. The new bands are divided into 10 levels and each of them grants us excellent rewards, clearly the first levels provide the best rewards.
