UFL Release Date, Gameplay of New Football Game

UFL – FIFA’s new rival.

We are in a period of revolutions as far as football simulation video games are concerned, many games are being born and the most famous and historical ones such as FIFA and PES seem to be approaching a major renewal process.

On the one hand, FIFA’s dominance seems unchallengeable, its numbers are always high, but it will have to be seen what happens with the next editions. Apparently there will be some licensing issues, and FIFA may change its name and perhaps some brand characteristics. Despite this, we believe that it will continue its streak of success in terms of economy and quantity of active players.

As for FIFA’s main rival, the historic Pro Evolution Soccer, this year it has changed its appearance and has been reborn under the name E-Football. This change created more problems than anything else and did not convince fans of this series, given the large amount of bugs and problems this title had at release, we will see how it evolves in future editions.

As for emerging soccer video games, there are two that have attracted the most attention: Goals and UFL. The first is a new soccer simulation designed by Andreas Thorstensson, former Counter Strike world champion, who describes this title as a free triple-A video game based primarily on multiplayer.

Goals’ sounds like a very interesting project, but at the moment it is a long way from publication. The second, on the other hand, is a title developed by Strikerz Inc. and announced on the Opening Night Live of Gamescom 2021, as in the previous case this title will also be a free-to-play based on online multiplayer.

What is UFL and when does it come out

UFL is a free football simulation video game based on online multiplayer, whose intention is to overcome the limitations of competitors FIFA and E-Football. It has been attracting a lot of attention from gamers lately, and expectations on this title are growing.

Interesting news is about this very new football simulation game, it will be unveiled in January 2022 and will use Unreal Engine as its graphics engine. This game in the short presentation teaser, released in 2021, has as its motto “Free to Play. Fair to Play“, from this slogan we can understand that the game will be free for supported platforms and that according to the developers’ intention it will have skill-based gameplay that will reward players’ skill.

In fact, the developers talk about the idea of creating “a global soccer league where only the skills of the gamers count.” Strikerz says it wants to follow a model based on players’ skills in an attempt to depart from the widespread “pay to win” model.

Over the past few days, the company’s Twitter profile has published a new very short teaser with the aim of confirming what will be the day when the large number of virtual soccer lovers will be able to watch UFL gameplay live. The date is set a few days from now, as the live event will be held on January 27, 2022.

At the moment, no clear details have been given as to the platforms from which the presentation will be possible to watch; it could be a short trailer containing some brief gameplay sequences or even a game played live.

As for the release date, It was first announced in August 2021 and was originally scheduled to be released in 2022. However, the release date was later pushed back to 2023. There is no official release date for UFL yet, but it is expected to be released in late 2023. The game will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

UFL what kind of licenses will it have?

Very little is really known about this detail that for many soccer fans seems crucial, so we have gathered some information to understand what to expect in terms of licensing.

Apparently, the manufacturer of this title has collaborated with FIFPRO, the world’s largest representative organization of professional soccer players (it has more than 60,000 thousand).

Confirming this rumor, the Belarusian manufacturer’s social profiles recently disclosed that Romelu Lukaku, Chelsea’s Belgian forward and former Inter Milan player, Will be one of UFL’s ambassadors. Big Rom was joined by two other famous Premier footballers, the first being Roberto Firmino, Liverpool’s famous Brazilian striker, and the second being Manchester City’s Ukrainian left-back Aleksandr Zinchenko.

Another very important partnership was achieved in early January, this time involving an entire club playing the Champions League, we are talking about Celtic FC, a well-known Scottish club. This club joins other teams that are already part of the project, among which we find Borussia M’Gladbach, Shaktar Donetsk, Sporting Lisbon and West Ham.

Apparently in the coming months, there will be many players and clubs that will follow suit and be part of the design of this title. So there is a good chance that this game could have official licenses of players, clubs and European competitions, but to know this information for sure will have to wait for official news.

On what consoles will UFL be available

The developers of this title have recently made it known that UFL will be released on all major game consoles, so as to have the widest possible user base. This means that the game will definitely be present for Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch. In our opinion, it is very likely that this game will also be released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and it appears virtually certain to be on PC as well.

It remains to be seen, however, whether the game will be cross platform and cross play, two features that could be useful based on the features this title will have.

Gameplay and other information

Among other information we have on UFL, there are some screenshots of in-game content showing us graphics of fields, stadiums and the faces of some ambassador players. The Unreal Engine seems to be used to perfection, however, we will see if the animations will have the same quality and especially realistic physics.

As for gameplay, there is no information available at the moment, we will just have to wait until January 27, when this detail will be revealed in a live preview. At the moment this game is getting a lot of attention, we will see if it will live up to expectations or risk being a kind of flop as happened with E-Football.
